PTZ Cameras
PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras are biaxial cameras with optical and digital zoom. The most common design is a larger dome. Depending on the manufacturer, these are currently available with up to 8MP, 40x optical zoom and additional digital zoom. Dome camera or mini dome size versions are available as well as fast rotating speed dome cameras or ATEX models. The software can be used to pre-configure the camera’s zero position and travel distances. However, the main reason for using a PTZ is the possibility of direct control by an operator to track potential sources of danger.
